Exhibition 2003
In co-operation with the press office of the city Dresden our association
organized this year the second exhibition in the town hall of Dresden with the headline
"The Nazca lines – Exhibition to the 100th birthday of Maria Reiche".
This exhibition showed the life and research of Maria Reiche, who died in 1998.
It informed about the discovery, theories, construction and variety of the soil drawings,
brought the land, the inhabitants and their culture home to us and gave insights in the
research project "Nasca" of the University of Applied Sciences Dresden.
The exhibition was formal opened at May 5th, 2003 in the town hall of Dresden.
Within the context of this event four lectures and a reading were held. Furthermore,
students of the University of Applied Sciences Dresden, faculty Surveying / Cartography,
modelled the hummingbird at the meadows near the river Elbe in Dresden in the scale 1:1.
