The 9th Expedition 2013
In August/September 2013 the 9th Expedition to Palpa and Nasca occured. Participants were
Bernd Teichert (HTW Dresden)
and Christiane Richter (HTW Dresden).
In this year the astronomy stood in the foreground. More specifically, the main task consisted in astronomical observations and investigations (e.g. visibility
near the horizon, influence of the refraction or accuracy of the Digital Terrain Model).
Besides these investigations the GPS measurement of missing topography (e.g. trails, villages or excavation areas) as well as the acquisition of the associated attribute data
was another important task.
And another task became a major item during the measuring campaign: the recording of the famous petroglyphs of Toro Muerto in the Majes river valley.
